Check the space around an Australian smart plug
Read the Australian Eve Energy body dimensions and surrounding access before treating a plug-in device as physically suitable.
Updated:

Use the Australian enclosure dimensions
Eve's support document lists the Australian Eve Energy as 77 mm by 77 mm by 60 mm with Type I sockets. Those dimensions are a starting point for recording physical space, not proof that it fits a particular outlet arrangement. The archived European smart-plug photograph shows a front control and substantial enclosure, but it is neither the Australian Eve product nor an Australian socket example. Do not copy its pin arrangement or rating. Start the comparison with the exact Australian product and the actual socket location, keeping uncertainty visible until the relevant instructions resolve it.

Separate width from the path of an appliance lead
A plug body can overlap the area beside a socket or interfere with furniture even when its front face seems compact. Record nearby switches, adjacent sockets, skirting and the direction in which the appliance lead would run. Do this as a planning sketch without opening electrical fittings or improvising an adapter arrangement. The 60 mm depth is an enclosure measurement; it should not be presented as the total clearance for every attached plug and cable bend. Keep those additional dimensions as unresolved fields rather than adding an invented universal allowance.
Use a fictional width example precisely
Suppose a notional clear shelf opening is 100 mm wide and the documented body width is 77 mm. The arithmetic difference is 23 mm in total, not 23 mm on each side. If centred on the drawing it would be 11.5 mm per side, but that symmetry is only a drawing assumption. Neither number certifies access, heat dissipation, electrical suitability or safe mounting. The useful output is a clearly labelled sketch that exposes an obvious conflict or identifies what must be measured next. A numerical difference answers only the particular geometric question used to calculate it.
Physical fit does not supply the network
For the Matter version, Eve identifies the need for a compatible Matter Controller and Thread Border Router. Record those roles separately from the plug enclosure. A shelf photograph of a HomePod mini illustrates that supporting equipment has its own physical location, but it does not prove that any photographed device is configured, updated or compatible with your chosen setup. The archive packaging photo similarly highlights a regional power-equipment difference; it is not permission to use a European adapter. Keep model, region, generation and documented system requirements together when comparing complete purchases.

Finish with a record of confirmed and open points
A useful shortlist entry says which dimensions are known, which surrounding measurements were observed and which product instructions still govern use. It does not turn a small enclosure into an electrical-safety assessment. Keep the Australian rating and appliance suitability as separate checks from body size, and do not use this article to select equipment for a load whose requirements remain unclear. If the outlet position is unsuitable, reconsider the location or seek the appropriate professional route rather than stacking improvised connectors. The result should be a better purchase question and a reproducible space record, with no claim of installation approval.
